Notes

Frozen Pineapple Margaritas are a blended cocktail served directly inside hollowed-out pineapples for a bold presentation. Fresh pineapple flesh is removed to create cups, then blended with silver tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and ice until slushy. The mixture is poured back into the pineapple shells and finished with simple garnishes like salted lime wedges and extra pineapple.

This recipe works because the natural sweetness and acidity of fresh pineapple balance the citrus and spirits without needing additional sweeteners. Blending some of the reserved pineapple into the drink adds body and reinforces the flavor while keeping the texture smooth and icy. Serving the margarita in the pineapple helps keep it cold longer and adds aroma as the drink sits.

This recipe is best suited for warm-weather gatherings or special occasions where presentation matters. Most of the prep can be done ahead by cutting and chilling the pineapple cups. The margaritas should be blended just before serving to maintain their frozen texture. If needed, the same margarita mixture can be served in glasses, but keeping the pineapple component maintains the intended flavor and structure.
