Notes

Oreogasm Cheesecake Bars are a layered dessert that combines a brownie base with a rich Oreo-studded cheesecake topping. A boxed fudgy brownie mix forms the bottom layer, topped with whole sandwich cookies, while the cheesecake layer is made from cream cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and crushed Oreo cookies. Once baked and cooled, the bars are finished with a drizzle of melted chocolate for an extra decorative touch.

The recipe works well because the dense brownie base supports the creamy cheesecake layer without blending together. Placing whole cookies directly on the brownie batter helps anchor the layers and adds texture when sliced. Beating the cream cheese until fluffy ensures a smooth cheesecake layer, while folding in crushed cookies evenly distributes flavor without weighing the mixture down. Baking until just set keeps the cheesecake creamy rather than dry.

This recipe is well suited for home baking when something a little more elaborate is desired. The bars need time to cool fully before slicing, which helps them hold clean edges. They store well covered in the refrigerator and can be served chilled or slightly tempered. The structure stays consistent even if the amount of cookie mix-ins or chocolate drizzle is adjusted slightly.
